Why is a box popping up saying I need a password to follow your link?

(I mean, yes, I can get there by going to teasel directly. But I was just curious what was up.)

Hm. Because LJ is saying that the link goes to an FTP site, rather than an HTTP - even though I clearly entered it as HTTP. Totally weird.

Well, I fixed it by pasting the exact link. We can hope that works.

Thanks for the rec, Molly *blushes like a schoolgirl*. I'm glad you liked the fic.

As for the technical issue of the link: oy. The following link should work:

http://members.aol.com/Brumblepop/fics/fh/index.html

I'm afraid the problem is AOL, which in an effort to deter hotlinked pictures has banned ALL links from LJ except those typed directly into messages as I have above. There is, incidentally, nothing an individual AOL user can do to change this default behavior on her site. LJ tries to get around this problem by automatically converting href links to AOL to ftp links, but this doesn't work for all users.

Yes, I do need a real web site, not this AOL nonsense -- sorry if my airheaded procrastination about doing so has caused anyone any inconvenience.

Now that was one entertaining fanfic - entertaining on so many different levels ;) The swan incident with Ledo had me in stitches. Thanks so much for the link.

Glad you liked it! I think my favorite removal of Frodo's lovers was the pirate abduction in the middle of a field. Giggled for quite some time there. :)
