BEWARE! lots of pictures.

Dec 21, 2005 00:15

we began our journey late at night;
chicago - the lights go as far as you can see.

and we did lots and lots of things.
including walking like 8 blocks the wrong direction and getting lost on the first morning;
so i took a picture of this building that looked only two dimensional.

but the next thing i did, was take pictures of me in the dress @ nordstrom's, because i'm lame, but here...

after nordstrom's, we roamed the mall a little more &i took my picture with this cute old lady sitting on a bench.

yes, she's made completely out of legos.
there is a whole store of legos! everything is made out of legos!
looklook.
lego santa.

&his lego reindeer.

lego spider.

lego skeleton.

even a lego king tut!

aww, look. lego movie man.

but the most impressive lego things were these two...
darth vader

&r2d2!

when we left the lego store, we saw some genuine christmas carolers.

as we went back to the hotel we saw this man.
at first the thoughts running through my mind were -
"real man, or statue? hmm."

he was a dancer all painted up.
and, when we got to the hotel -
the temperature in the room was not much better than the 0 degree temperature outside.
takealook -

yeah.
the next day, we went to the apple store; omgzzzzzz, i've been converted.

it has glass steps inside;

&a genius bar, where you get all your apple kinks worked out.

on the way to bloomingdale's we saw this pretty pink volkswagen.

&we stopped in polo ralph lauren; it was sickening.
these ugly leather pants had this price tag -

yes, that's $1,198.00.
yeah.
then we got to bloomingdale's! oh the beautiful christmas tree.

we saw more really expensive clothes &i hung out with the vera wang dresses for a few minutes.
later that day we ventured to the american girl place.
oh how i wish i had had my molly doll with me; i felt like a little girl all over again!
here's molly's christmas scene;

they had walls full of every girl and everything that went with them; this place was utterly amazing.
molly mcintire;

such a big part of my childhood.

around the corner was a huge hershey's store; yum!

the next day was c-r-azy!
yay for wicked!
on the way i saw this building;

is gene siskel's [siskel the movie critic] first name? hmm.
and the beautiful chicago theatre! [shaky picture; apologies, lots of people bumping.]

then, it was time for wicked!

the oriental theatre was beautiful.
seehere;
a statue.

the wall.

a pretty light fixture.

and the ceiling.

it was exquisite.
the actual theatre was neat too;
i shot a couple of pictures before i realized that i had to put my camera away in the actual theatre part.
here's what it looked like before the show began.

and an upclose of the dragon.

wicked was amazing;
twisted;
punny;
and downright awesome. the critics? they say it's...

the landscape was kind of pretty as we flew home today.

along with this rock quarry,

and a nuclear or steam plant.

welcome to nashville;
notice the smog.
"downtownnashville."

homehomehome.

i really hope you enjoy the pictures.
tonight was a good night.
i enjoy long phone talks &random conversations.
ihavethebestboyfriend. thanks.
life can't get much better.
i<3conan.

i missed home a little;
i love josh+meg.
&morgan loftin + sam nelson are two [among several others] i will miss most next year; every meal i eat with them, every conversation i share makes me smile wider &wider.
