My mother went to HS with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, so I've been fortunate enough to kind of grow up knowing who she was. I met her finally after the show, and when she found out who I was, she spent a lot of time talking to me about my family and asking about everyone
Ooo, you're lucky, I love Mary Elizabeth =P I was with a friend's family, though, and they didn't give an indication that they wanted to wait at the stage door so I didn't want to be rude. I wanted to meet both BSM and MEM badly though. Oh, well, there's always another time =)
I got pictures with the three stars - Mary Elizabeth, Brian, and Ernie Sabella. It was really exciting. I don't often get to meet famous people. (: Mary Elizabeth was BY FAR the nicest!
A ton was cut, mostly out of the prison scenes at the beginning. You must've noticed that the show only ran about two hours; even the most quickly paced productions run about twenty minutes longer than that.
I wish I could give you more specifics, but truth be told, I don't remember individual lines. I just remember being shocked by the realization that we didn't know any of these prisoners - all of their defining characteristics were gone.
