Are you antialiasing your text? Because you should.

These are really good, esp the first one! But you should anti-alias the text. :)

Agreed on the anti-alias. Other than that, great job! You've got a lot of potential. I'd play with some other colourings and blendings--I may be wrong, and I usually am, but I see a lot of "burn." I used to use that ALL the time! I suggest some Overlay, Multiply, etc. Just play around some more! You've got a good style already. :)

If you can't get your text to look sharp when it's anti-alias, turn the text layer into a raster layer, and use your sharpening tool. That helps me a lot!
