(1) I'm so so glad that she's fine.
(2) How scary! I can picture it and it sounds really intense. Go you, and her, and stepdad, and friend who took the kids, for handling such a frightening experience so well.

You don't have to picture it in your head, you can watch the video!! The whole thing was recorded and is on the temple's website. She has no memory of the episode and she's been watching the video over and over! I can't watch it, I'm reliving it in my head over and over.

Oh my goodness! So very scary. I'm sorry you had to witness that but very glad to hear that she is okay. Hugs and good thoughts to you and your family!

(I think it is pretty common for people to not realize they are having/had a heart attack. Two years ago, a guy had a heart attack while running the Dipsea. He felt like sh*t, but only slightly sh*ttier than usual for that race cuz it was really hot. He was fine, too, mostly because he was in good shape to begin with.)

it's especially common for women to mistake a heart attack for something else because they present quite differently from men. My mom's telltale sign was an aching jaw. Apparently, that is common in women. She also had a tightness on right side and around her back. she said she just thought her bra was too tight!!

Wow. that must have been terrifying. I'm so sorry the kids saw it. I'm sorry it happened and that you had to see it, but you're an adult.

It sounds like it's under control now that they know what's wrong. Get yourself tested, too.

(When it's over can we joke about how many doctors there were to attend to her when she collapsed? No? Too soon?)

Oh, if you're going to collapse, do it a synagogue. We counted 10 doctors on the bima, including a psychiatrist. She had, doctors, lawyers, and 4 rabbis! Totally covered.

we were joking about it that night!

That must have been scary to see her fall like that. I'm so glad she got checked and it's something that can be managed with medication.
