play date

Nov 03, 2005 00:28

I forgot to put this in my earlier entry: My mom made a playdate for me. She was looking for Mylicon drops at the store for me earlier, and saw a young woman there with a baby right around my son's age (four days younger). So she asked the girl, "Do you know where the gas drops are?" and the girl did, and her baby also has gas problems, and she' ( Read more... )

ahahaha. Angie. you silly goose! Don't feel old. It's really a pagan holiday anyway, t hat you definitely don't need to be celebrating with any fervent zeal! you're not missing much except dressing up like demons and then saying to the actually demons, 'I'M RIGHT HERE, I'M OVER HERE, WOOHOO! OVER THIS WAY!"

Father Rich at St. Catherine's was saying that we dress up for All Hallow's Eve (sp?) to remind us that evil is in the world. It was a different interpretation and I kind of liked it. I didn't get to celebrate as a kid till we moved out of Gig's. Maybe it's different if you actually celebrate All Saints' Day, too?

That's an interesting take on it. But how many people actually think of it that way? I donno. It just gives me the creeps - always has, I used have like major anxiety and trouble breathing and stuff on Hallowe'en when I was a little girl. So that kinda changes my perspective on stuff...

wow. I just remember that Gig always made us go to bed EARLY on Halloween (why???? I have no clue) but then we'd hear kids approaching the house and yell out the window to them "Don't knock!" cos we knew Gig would get really pissed off at them when they screamed "Trick or Treat!" (We did NOT distribute candy, ahem)

You should go to Baby Bungalow with Ethan. They have a class for 0-8mos.and you talk to other moms about what your baby is doing. They make toys, sing songs, and they tell you what your baby should be doing each month. You should look it up online. They have other classes there like baby signing,infant-toddler cpr, music classes, playdates, and lots more.I have the number if you want it.
P.S.the 0-8mos.class is $20 and you go one day a week for six weeks.

Is that $20 total or $20 a week? Money is nearly non-existant right now (read my other journal for the explanatory rant) so I can't do it if it's weekly. My aunt and cousin take their babies, but they're in a different class.

Here's the link: http://www.childabusecouncil.com/programs/babybungalow.htm OR http://babybungalow.childabusecouncil.com/ so you can check their schedule and locations.

It's fun and you learn a lot. I made friend while we were going. She was a cynic like me, assuming some of the information out there was really marketing.
