it was funny watching the two for you search your mental databases trying to figure out how you knew one another. you both had that, "i should remember why i know her" look on you faces. now i know why.
Even with the "Rachel from Friends" hairdo? Jesus, I swear I thought I was going "funky". Next year it's going to have to be "Rachel from Bar 13," but someone has to show me how to do the makeup.
You know, there's *another* Dawn from the bay area somewhere, but I never met her. Was trying to, but whenever I asked, do you know who Dawn is?, people looked at me funny.
Be grateful for not changing in six years. If you manage to make it 10, 15, 20 years and still looking the same, then I'm going to suspect some Faustian/Dorian Gray action taking place.
FYI, just so you can have a good laugh, finally went out on a date. Just thought I'd give you a reason to smile/laugh/guffaw uproariously. Hope all is well and I hope the Librarian of Congress is taking notice of your poetry and slam actions so we can get you fast-tracked to the office of Poet Laureate! Be well!
The only pictures I have in the attic are photos from the 8th grade, and I assure you they are hideous.
I wouldn't laugh about you going on a date! It's just about time you got over grad school, honey. When is the first show at Philip's this year? I think it's very strange that we live so close, and it's been such a long stretch of years. Hell, if it weren't for the internet, I wouldn't know if you lived next door. In any case, we need to start the club for People Only Barely Tolerated In Middletown Highschool. Unless it's already got regular meetings...
Given how terrible things are there now, it would probably be more like People Who Have Developed Successful Lives In Spite of the Taint of Middletown High School...
Our first show of the year (at our middle school since the high school's under reconstruction) is a blend of three one-act plays, one by Thornton Wilder (The Long Christmas Dinner) and another by Clement Moore (Twas The Night Before Christmas). We are performing them Dec. 9 & 10 (see the Web page at http://www.kingphilip.org/kphigh/drama).
As for the date thing...his name is Doug and the root of that revelation can be the topic of discussion elsewhere at another time and place.
Middletown Highschool: just another crappy John Hughes movie.
In other news: if you're doing Thornton Wilder, you should take the kids to see Dogville! Not Really! It kind of stinks!
Lastly, look at my comment to javabill above. The only reason I married a man is because a woman would have a MUCH harder time getting me knocked up. And if it's not Darleen, I ain't sayin' shit.
