No, I'm not complaining that Crystal lost. Though I voted for her and was really hoping she would win, I like Lee as well. The man has grown so much over the last few months, come into his own. He's found a confidence in himself that I don't think he ever had before, and he's a really, really good singer. As far as I'm concerned, they were both deserving of the title and I'll be anxiously awaiting Lee's album just as much as Crystal's.
What I'm angry about is fan reactions. Yes, it happens every year that the loser's fans bitch and moan and complain about the winner, but this year it bothers me even more than usual. Crystal has always been such a kind, considerate person. The other Idols dubbed her Mamasox not just because she's a mom, but because she's a very motherly figure. She was the one who encouraged and supported, was there for everyone else regardless of the fact that they were all her competition.
She's also a very gracious loser.
In an interview after the show, she said that she was happy for Lee, and not to be sad for her. She knew he was going to win and was completely fine with it. Now I'm sure she felt a twinge of disappointment (who wouldn't?), but I believe that she truly isn't angry or upset about the results. She's happy and content and moving on.
Then you turn around and read some of her fans' comments and all you hear is that Lee sucks and the only reason he won was because of all the 12 year old girls voting for him. Seriously, people! Get over it. No, Lee doesn't suck, he's just not the person you wanted to win. And no, it wasn't just preteen girls who like him. He has fans from both genders and from all ages. It's the whole John Stevens thing all over again, and it's bullshit.
Stop being sore losers. All you're doing is making yourself look bad, and Crystal as well. Try to learn from the woman you wanted to win so badly and be gracious about it instead of acting like the 12 year olds you think sabotaged Crystal's chances.
