In which we talk about writing.

I have, in rough estimate, written about 125,000 words this year. I'm going to end the year well short of my goal of 200,000 words and not having finished the one thing I wanted to have finished this year. That said, I don't think it's a failure ( Read more... )

I am tempted to join! Especially since you have a tumblr community. Might be a good thing to chart my process so I don't feel so useless all the time.

Join! It's really fun, and you can be as active or not active in the actual communities as you like as long as you track your words and check in each month, which is really just helpful accounting. ♥

I think number seven is absolutely doable. :D And number nine, too.

I bet you can do the other ones, too, but those two are a lock.

Ahahaa, it's true. Number 7 is one of my great talents in life. No reason not to continue honing it. :p

Imma add #10 to your list-Work on The Steampunk some over the summer. I'd really like to start writing around in that next year.

Yes, agreed, whole heartedly. I didn't want to press you while you were so busy, but I'm here for it whenever you are ready.

I HAVE A THOUGHT! I think we write around in our current outline, send things back and forth as we finish, and stitch it together as we work/later. Then we can figure out where the holes are and write/revise to fill the holes.

Also, maybe we can use Evernote to plan. I'm pretty sure that works across all platforms. I just thought of that, so I'll look into it.

I think that's absolutely doable! We should probably pow wow a bit on changes we've made mentally and update our character info sheets, like gender swaps and stuff, but it'll be easy to break into chunks and pass around. And being able to put a timeline on pieces on my end will really help

And I don't know anything about Evernote, but let me know what you find out.

i took a massive shit on literature in February and i am only returning now. mainly because i joined an rp with all my old rp friends and it has gotten me writing again. yay and yayness!

my plans for 2015 include a full draft of 12:01am, a plot outline of the sequel (...12:01pm, no lie) and some sort of poetry/short story/flash thing since it has been quite a really long time since i've done that. i still have the idea of doing the one based on rap songs forever and ever floating in my head, but, we'll see. if all else fails, a draft or something of 13 birds would be nice. since that still exists.

maybe just seeing what still exists besides 12:01am would be good.

and hopefully reading more and reading for people i know more and yeah. just all that good stuff. you know. ready to be in the world again.

RPs are really great things. I wish I didn't constantly fall out of them when I got started on them. Pfah.

Yes, I like these plans, you should definitely carry forward with these plans. Let me know if you need any help with anything, or just want to bounce ideas around.
