So, the dissertation co-ordinator threw out every single idea I presented him with, and wasn't even the slightest bit helpful. He was just like 'come back next week.'

Wonderful.

I have to completely rethink everything and I have no idea what I would even do instead of the ideas I had before.

That. I'd say that sucks, but that doesn't really begin to get around to expressing how efjefkfd it is.

Maybe you should bug him and see what sort of ideas he'd be looking for?

Go talk to your personal tutor about brain storming ideas imo.
If your personal tutor has anything to do with your course anyway (mine didnt wtf university. gg.) If not then try find a favoured professor to help you out for 10 min or so. Or maybe give them your ideas and see if they can help expand on them.

Also what is it with co-ordinators being douches. Mine was a total douche too hurr.
