Title: The End is Where We Begin Beta(s):ladyofgallifrey Song Titles(s): Dream a Little Dream of Me Rating: PG Characters/Pairing: Nine/Rose, Ten/Rose A/N: Written for alex_caligari as part of the Carol-A-Thon 2009.
Ah, my HEART, what did it do to you? ;) First you make it break for mourning Rose and insecure Ten and then, Ahhhh *sniffs* This, my dear, is a gem, Nine being a constant presence, brilliant, he's sort of a fanthom or a memory in Ten's head and yet like a ghost or guardian angel for them, I love it that he's the one who gives Ten absolution and makes him let go, also, hee, really love the companionship of two Doctors and a little bit of banter :D
He hopes that one day she might come to realize how much of her handiwork this regeneration is comprised of, how much every part of him is meant for her. Awww, Ten ♥ This so made my heart go to him *squishes*
"In every way that counts." he answers earnestly, and runs a hand through her ash-streaked hair. ♥ and I just might have a thing for hair-touching XD
He rocks his girl in his arms *is mushmush* this makes me want to coo *eee*
Two long and short years held between their clasped hands. Gah, this is just such a gorgeous line, brilliance in construction and imagery ♥
Ah, my HEART, what did it do to you? *snuggles your heart* I'M SO SORRYYYY ;___;.
I love it that he's the one who gives Ten absolution and makes him let go, also, hee, really love the companionship of two Doctors and a little bit of banter It's always pretty complicated when two Doctors meet (according to Classic!Who, they often don't get along too well XD) but I think Nine and Ten are kind of set apart from the rest, because of Rose. And I feel like Ten would have a deeper sense of respect for Nine, as he was the one who brought Rose into their lives, was the one who Rose loved first.
and I just might have a thing for hair-touching ME TOO! Especially when it's with Ten's long, lovely fingers ♥.
I really love that character development and juxtaposition, the Time Lords are cowards (people who live that long always are, it's part of why they live so long xD and those who have a short life span burn the lightest and definitely are the brave ones)Yeah! When you live such a long life, it's so easy to put things off and run away, but

I feel like Ten would have a deeper sense of respect for Nine, as he was the one who brought Rose into their lives, was the one who Rose loved first. He's also the one who survived Time War and carried all the painful weight alone for some time, yeah. But there'll still be much banter because Ten is a "pretty boy" and Nine's "years make an elephant jealous" ;DD
I think that would weigh the most on TenII, seeing as how he's so used to regenerating and has lived such a long life already, and yet only has a few decades left now. Yeah, sometimes I think, poor TenToo, this weight of mortality comes crushing on him, it's good he has Rose ♥
YOU KNOW HOW TO MAKE A READER FEEL APPRECIATED, YOU WONDERFUL PERSON,YOU ♥ *sends you back much love and cookies*
I have no idea how I missed this! I just... guh... uhh... *has no words* I don't even know how to FEEL. D: I want to cry for obvious reasons XD but then again... it's full of such hope, too.
And, oooooh, your style. It's one of the most beautiful and vivid and metaphorical and lyrical I think I've ever read! ♥♥♥
This comment does not do your fic justice - I wish I could write more, but you've blown me away! *is dead* XD
So, yes. Completely gorgeous, darling. ♥
TOTALLY MEMING THIS FOR AFTER TOMORROW NIGHT. ;__; Even though, you know, NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN. *covers ears and eyes in perpetual state of denial*
Oh, I'm so, so happy to hear you liked it! *huggles you lots*
And, oooooh, your style. It's one of the most beautiful and vivid and metaphorical and lyrical I think I've ever read! *BLUSHES LIKE MAD* Thank yooooou ♥.
*covers ears and eyes in perpetual state of denial* Even now, several days after the finale, I don't think I've properly processed it all ;___;. I watched the S5 trailer, freaked out and closed it after he said "I'm the Doctor." - it felt so wrong.
First of all, I apologise for being so long in reviewing this wonderful piece of story-telling.
Outside, the ash continues to fall. She'll want to keep pretending its snow, and he'll let her.
Right from the first sentence, this is very telling. It's somehow definitive of their relationship, pretending things are different or better than they are.
There's a song playing on the radio, made three-fourths of wistfulness and the rest of nostalgia
And the song! Working in snatches of lyrics instead of whole lines adds that little touch of realism and normalcy to the scenes. And you don't even let the song say "I love you." Cutting it off right at that moment, it makes you want closure, something that neither the reader nor Rose really gets and it leaves you slightly off-balanced. It's like the beginning of their relationship. And then you make the song prompt his song, his ending song. So sneaky!
"The brave one." the man says softly, even more ghosty in the lamplight. "Street corner, two in the morning. The one adventure. But it's

It's somehow definitive of their relationship, pretending things are different or better than they are. Yaaaay! I'm so glad that got through :D. It kind of carries across the series too, how optimistic Rose is in her belief that they will always be together, that nothing can split them apart. While the Doctor knows it's not true, he doesn't exactly dissuade her thinking, partly because he'd like it very much to be so as well.
And the song! Working in snatches of lyrics instead of whole lines adds that little touch of realism and normalcy to the scenes. I actually hadn't heard the song before I got your prompt, but I fell in love with it right away. Thank you for such a brilliant combination :D!
And you don't even let the song say "I love you." Hee! Ten might be rubbing off on me just a tad XD.
This was a gift to read, and I thank you so much for taking such care and attention with it. <3I'm so, so glad you liked it! It was my first experience in one of these gifting events, and your prompt and gift made it a wonderful one ♥.
