Okay. Okay. Moving back upwards and taking it slowly.
Neither of them says another world for several moments. Guilt weighing heavier by the second in her stomach, the mattress bends as daughter joins mother, her hand smoothing across the planes of Jackie’s shoulder as it settles on the other, as she nestles her chin in the crook of Jackie’s neck. They breathe together, cooling down.
...
They hug one another goodnight, Rose fitting in her mother’s arms in the way only daughters can, the way biology demands and love creates.
Oh my god, how much do I love these lines? For so long, Rose and Jackie only ever had each other-- and though this means they know exactly the right buttons to press to get a reaction, it also means that they understand each other more deeply than anyone else. I love that you've maintained that closeness, because it provides such a wonderful emotional ballast.
Saying encouraging things about the Montagues is not one of the stranger things to have come out of these past ( ... )

That reaction thrills me to no end. *cackles*

That's the interesting irony that comes with relationships, especially between mothers and daughters, isn't it? No one will ever quite love you like they do, and yet at the same time, no one can quite hurt you the way they do either :/. I've always adored Rose and Jackie's relationship in this regard too, and it was important for me to show that in here, so that it shows how much is really at stake for Rose. In the play, Juliet is quite ready to leave the Capulets for Romeo, but I wanted to show that that's not quite the case with Rose.
To the Martha and Rose stuff, all I can say is a hearty SNAP.I always wished there would've been more Martha/Rose interaction in DW! I feel like though they'd be quite snippy to each other at times, they ( ... )

There is so much of this I want to bring into this little comment box and talk about for ages but mostly, Leah has covered EVERYTHING I EVER THOUGHT TO SAY ABOUT IT, and me adding my two cents would actually just be me fishing hers out of the fountain and regifting it to you, which isn't fair or ethical, so like, I'm kind of at a loss at what to say right now.
Except that my heart was pounding so hard throughout this entire thing that I could barely hear what was going on around me, every sentence just like, strung with tension and this sort of waiting, as if you've balanced this whole chapter on a precipice and it's just about to fall, which is just so fucking marvelous and crazy and I don't know how you do it, what ancient, legendary writer you're related to who's given you these special powers but I LOVE IT ( ... )

a sex scene in the next chapter should fix this problem right up.
I AGREE STRONGLY WITH THIS STATEMENT.

This chapter is definitely a turning point, oh yes. If you thought it was all fun and sunshine and rainbows in Verona at this point... *waggles eyebrows*
I've never, ever been so creeped out and turned on AT THE SAME TIME. Which is how I like to think every exchange between them makes Rose feel, too.
YEEEES! That's exactly what I was going for! I am so glad you felt that way, because writing the Master always worries me a lot :/. But yep, I think it's pretty safe to say Rose is freaked out, but also weirdly attracted to him at the same time. Everyone in Verona is a bit caught under his ~spell~ at the moment, except for Jack and the Doctor. Also, I experience brief spells in which the dark, twisted inner shipper inside of me is ridiculously tempted to derail this entire thing and make it a Master/Rose spinoff instead. The hate ( ... )

I AM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU. This comment was ~going~ to be about how I think your next project should be Master/Rose, as obviously it's tempting you tremendously, but I think the issue we've just highlighted could be a bit of a dealbreaker XD
OH WHO AM I KIDDING PLEASE WRITE SCARY KINKY MASTER/ROSE. I THINK IT WOULD, Y'KNOW. BE... GOOD FOR US.
