These are just some generalities that apply to a friend of mine - yes well and to me too. I figured my friend wouldn't actually listen to 'em (I mean do any of us really?) so I'm going to put them someplace where I won't forget 'em.
Remember that your life is exactly the way it's supposed to be today. God already has tommorow all planned out. Just think people do crazy things and it turns out ok. People fall off buildings, bounce, and walk away. People get in horrible car wrecks and survive without a scratch. People get shot at and don't get hit at all. Getting killed today just wasn't in God's plan for em. Of course you could also get cancer - go to the best doctor's in the world, get yourself into remmission - walk out of the hospital and get hit by a bus. When it's your time it's just your time. Nothing wrong there - everybody lives forever somewhere. God just sends us somewhere else to do probably something similar (learn lessons). There are no mistakes.
There are two frames of mind I tend to use. I think of the world like God is running it, or I think of the world like God isn't there. When I think of the world like God is running it I pray alot, and have faith, and trust everything has a purpose, and feel grateful for what I have, and help and trust and love the people around me, and live in mostly serenity.
When I think of the world like God isn't there, I worry alot, don't think my life or I are worth anything, feel miserable, blame others for whatever I don't like, hurt me and the people around me, and feel like nothing is going to work out.
Hmmmm there's a tough choice.
Hmmmm you look like you might need some help on this one.
Hmmmm yes actually I did too.
The first one hint hint. Read that again. Yeah really. No I mean it holy *&^# just do it.
Ok fine. When I think of the world like God is running it I pray alot, and have faith, and trust everything has a purpose, and feel grateful for what I have, and help and trust and love the people around me, and live mostly in serenity.
Ha gotcha anyway.
See the first way of looking at the world works for me. Just practice it over and over and it gets easier.
And remember that your Higher Power will never let you down. It's a promise. Yes it's in the book on page 181. Yeah so ...
I need to remember all of this stuff every day. I don't but I need to. But that probably won't happen. But I'm going to practice anyway. And there are some people I'll say this little prayer for when they don't support me. "Screw 'em". I like that one. Makes me feel all spiritual and sh#@.
So now I know where to look when I'm feeling blue. I'm grateful for the life I live today. It's the best I've ever had it.
