Congrats on the boyfriend (stunning fellow, I must say). Don't worry if he isn't as affectionate as you: a lot of guys are simply more stoic and choose, sometimes subconsciously, to avoid expressing deep emotion. It doesn't mean it isn't there; it's just harder to find.
And amen to the family finally getting over themselves. It takes a while, but sometimes even adults need to grow up. Don't worry about losing touch with your sister, though: she's a newlywed (a new mom, too?), and the responsibilities to that relationship often requires readjusting the old ones. She'll come around, eventually.
