LIZ SAYS NO TO BREED BANS

I just joined the Families Against Breed Bans to ensure that no breeds ever get banned in Seattle. All dog attacks are wrong and everyone is responsible to prevent them.  All dog owners need to follow the rules and laws of their communities and must take every step toward responsible dog ownership. I agree with you about the inbreeding of a specific gene pool in animals. Every attempt should be made to further the the breed for the betterment of the breed rather than for greed, profit or fighting. I'm sure in the past the pit-bull breed served its purpose and was probably used in the role of hunter, protector or for animal fighting but since we don't live in the dark ages the breed needs to be adapted to our current society. Breed banning is not the answer. Early socialization rather than isolation training along with training will serve society better. It could be too late to fix certain dogs even at adoption if they have not been socialized or introduced to a family situation at a very early age. Identifying and correcting aggressive behavior when the dog is young will also prevent problems. Regulation and tougher laws regarding breeding could also serve better than just banning the animal ( ... )
