Enjoyed reading about your memories and seeing the pictures... though I'm a bit confused about the windows in the door? Two glass windows? One in the screen door and one in the main door??

No, it's one window. From afar you can't see the etched glass in the middle in detail. The closeup of the etching is the same window, just closeup to show the etched center.

It's a lovely window. I hope it is preserved if they don't finish remodelling the house ... too bad you couldn't have it framed and hang it on a wall as a decoration -- or have a similar one made. My Mum has a lovely bevelled glass oval window in their porch door. Plain see through clear glass but old school like that too... a while back they were going to move as the bathrooms are either up or down stairs and they are getting up in their 70's but then they decided they would rather stay as they had pd the mortgage and would still have had to make payments in a new place. I was glad they stayed put as we moved to that house in 1975 so basically the majority of my childhood/youth was spent there. I lived overseas for a while and described the house to my eventual husband. When we got there it seemed so much smaller than I remembered after an absence of a year or so!
