My Grandma

The other day as I was unpacking things and putting them away, I ran across memories.  This happens often, as I keep a lot of things because of "memories," but this was a memory very old and almost forgotten.

I felt a "connection" to my Grandma earlier this year when one of my aunts posted her recipe for bread on our family website. When I made it, and it came out huge loaves (that wouldn't fit in the toaster -- just like Grandma's) I felt a little like the act of creating filled the void between us after all these years. Grandma died in July 1992 - yet her grandchildren (that she never met) could still enjoy eating her famous bread -- albeit made by another's hand.
