Fantastic!! I'm so excited you posted these! I used to run the booksale when I was there. Wow. That's just beyond any other book-acquiring-opportunity anywhere.
Where do they store the boxes of books now before the sale? When I was there, we moved from the basement of Hodge (from which they mysteriously managed to disappear) into the basement of Mackay under the stairs. Great times, sorting through all those boxes after boxes after boxes of books... putting them out... watching them walk away by the truckload and still managing to leave what seemed like as many as were there at the beginning.
Seems like our best year (the last year) we got something like $17,000 in those three days. At least that's the number in my head. Sometimes my brain just willy-nilly adds and subtracts 0s from numbers with no rhyme nor reason. Is $17,000 even possible? Probably not. Seems astronomical for any event that includes four hours of "Bag or a box for a buck!"
the booksale was amazing. i spent... heck. days there. one night i considered crawling up on the boxes and falling asleep.
we now have the booksale in whitely gym. it's just big enough... this year we made a whopping $26,500 which is just about the most they've ever made. it makes me happy.
i still have moments of confusion when i consider how much cash went through these fingers! :)
Excellent. I had a hunch it was bringing in more and more money every year, as word spreads and the donations get larger at better. Is it still three days? That would be unbelievably short for so many books.
The money is mind-boggling, indeed. Congratulations!
haha! i like that guy's shirt, although at first i thought it was referring to "feminine napkins"...that's what you get for hanging out with commonwealthies

Say hi to her for me if she remembers me... or if not. Either way.
Garrett totally looks like a Southern preacher-man. I like the map-shot.
Jessica-among-the-boxes is cute! Who's that with you in the map-shot?
