That annoys me so much. Of course we all think things were less violent/bettter quality/more enjoyable/etc. when we were young. But on this I'm right. I remember when you put up Halloween decorations, took them down on November 1st, then put up turkeys and horns of plenty and leaves. After Thanksgiving, you put up Christmas decorations. That was the way it was, and the way it should be.
I am totally with you on this one!! What happened to drawing turkeys with your outlined hand and making pilgrim hats and cornucopias? OK, so we're not in grade school anymore, but still!
xmas music is not allowed until the day after thanksgiving. Santa comes on the float in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade on TUrkey Day and starting Christmas without him is just rude...
We passed a store the other day, and Hari went on a positive *tear* about how there shouldn't be Christmas decorations up when it wasn't even HalloWEEN, and what was wrong with them.
It was hilarious, and also shows that she's inherited the family talent for lambasting idiotic customs. I mean, I was agreeing with her the whole time!

Me too! I'm pretty punk rock, but I cling to that tradition like a damn limpet.
