Skylar's 6 Month "exams"

Skylar gained 2 oz *yay* - I think it was the candy :) Mary Ann gave me a canister of flavorless protien powder this morning to see how Skylar will react to it. It looks just like formula, doesn't smell, and doesn't taste. I put 1 teaspoon of it in Sky's milk this morning and she drank the whole thing, didn't even blink, so it looks like this

So, for those of us out of the loop...And I hope I'm not being too nosey...Why is Skylar wearing braces?

She has developmental delays that extend to her ability to walk. She was born and continues to have poor muscle tone, which impacts her ability to walk, crawl, and especially balance. She also has sensitive feet and curls her toes under when she stands (along with turning her ankles out and standing on the side of her feet). All of these things played a factor in her getting braces, but they are mostly to keep her from curling under her toes, turning her ankles and keeping her feet square to the floor so she can keep her balance.
