We all survived. And yes it was worse than I thought. I took pictures and actually cried in front of the teacher (she gave me a hug) but not in front of patrick who was fortunately very distracted by the train table. I stayed for about 10 minutes while she told me all the pertinent stuff and then waited until patrick was settled doing play-doh ( Read more... )

Glad that you survived and he enjoyed his time.
I'm sure that it will only get easier, dear. *HUGS*

sounds like patrick had a rockin first day! mom, not so much, but patrick, awesome! be sure to ask spefic questions of preschoolers to get info on what they did. ask stuff like "did you use scissors?, did you cut stright lines, wiggly one, circles? did you cut any shapes or animals? i saw you doing playdough when i left, tell me about that. what book did you read? what did play on the playground? what color was it? did you use blocks (usually a big hit with boys, as i'm sure you recall)?" general questions like "what did you do?" they're not so much with. too vague.

and the special behaviors will go away as school get routine, and part of normal life.

just remember, this is patricks thing, and it sounds like he is doing excellent! and yes, soon you will be most glad of the break and having him at school!

sounds like he had a *great* time and i'm happy for the both of you for that. at the dance studio we have had 3 year olds that couldn't bear to part from mom. some wouldn't come in for weeks, and others come in but cry. eventually they are all fine.
just hang in there. this is good for patrick, it will get easier for you, and you will appreciate having more time to yourself, vivi, and your new one on the way. :)
