haha, just kiddin.
Well, I work at the YMCA with 3 & 4 year olds as you may know. Natalie is in the baby room while I am working, just down the hall. I've been going through this total guilt because lately she freaks out a lot of the time I'm gone. Then I get there, and of course, she is happy. At least I know my baby loves me, right?
My boss called ( Read more... )

Wow, congratulations! I don't think you should care if others think you're a crappy mom, because you know in your heart you are not. I think YMCA is very special for helping you out. I think you should feel blessed for having such an honor. There are tons of families out there that would cut off their right earlobe and spoon out both eyes for this kind of oportunity.
I am going to work at a soup kitchen for christmas. I hope the people there don't think we're serving them food because we think they're scum. I hope they appreciate us and I hope we lift their spirits even for a second.

I'm off my soap box now. Sorry if I rambled...

What soup kitchen are you gonna work at? I know a great one if you haven't desided yet. St. Leo's, they always need help. They are always grateful also. Me and my lil' sis are gonna collect stuff for them, and a few others. If you are interested let me know.

I'm going to the Soup Kitchen on Telegraph and Fenkel (aka 5 mile). It's a horrible area and I fear my life, but I really do believe that this is for the best.
Who knows, I could want to work at the one you mentioned as well. Give me some info!

Hey first off, No I'm sure they don't think your a crap mom. You know MB prolly pulled strings to help you out. This is a good thing. Food stamps only do so much, and MB prolly wanted to do what she could. SUCK IT UP WOMAN!!!!! Take it, and say thank you. This is something that I have been trying to work on myself as of late. The Pride things a bitch, I know, Just take it. You know you need and deserve it. If there was a family that they thought needed it more, they would have give'n it to them. They know all you are going through, babies cost a lot of money. Thats what they do. They also prolly like the fact that you 2 are getting married. SO NAH-NAH-NA-BOO-BOO!!!!!

Actually MB told me that they usually pick a family that lives in the community (Farmington Hills) who needs it and someone else suggested me, they said, "Why do this for someone else when we have someone right here who needs it?" I guess we're getting SOME OF IT on Saturday. She's saying it like she's gotta load it all in her car alone and cart it over here. I told her I could come over and get it so she wouldn't have to carry things. Hopefully she'll be ok with that, you know she has a hard time with stairs.

I think it's far more likely they've chosen your family because they know how hard you've been working to bring everything together. This is a nice thing they're doing for you. Sure, your ego may be a little bruised, but when you realize it means that they like you and are proud of you, isn't it worth having your world view knocked sideways for a bit?

Also, your mother-in-law-to-be needs to go on antipsychotic medication.

Soon.

You're right. That's almost word for word what she said, it was just me automatically getting defensive.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about Brian's mom. Hopefully she leaves the tags on all the ugly clothes she got me for christmas.
