Really, it's NOT that serious...

Okay, I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinions. I also understand that everyone has the right to vote for whomever they see fit. What I DON'T understand is http://www.livejournal.com/users/bullpenbrat22/75854.html

Am I going to unfriend someone because they're pro-life? No, I'm not. Although I'm Christian, I am pro-choice. Yes, abortion may be murder to some of you, but, in my opinion, abortion should be decided by the woman who is pregnant with an unexpected pregnancy. Having had two abortions myself, I know how hard it was for me to make the decision to abort, especially with the second abortion. I didn't know who the father was with the first pregnancy and I didn't have a job at the time. And you know a lot of places won't hire a pregnant woman. As for the second pregnancy...let's just say that David and I should've had five children, not four. I could not have carried either baby to term because there was no way I could've afforded to keep either child. And being adopted myself, I know that I couldn't have given either child up for adoption, either. I hate being adopted. I hate not knowing more about my birthmother. I hate not knowing anything about my birthfather. And I hate, hate, hate not having the courage to ask my birthmother about him.

And speaking of being Christian, should I unfriend someone because they are an atheist? No, I shouldn't. It will upset me that any of my friends that I have that are atheist haven't excepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, but I'm not going to try and shove my beliefs down their throats. All I can do is pray for them, and maybe try to talk to them to find out why they are an atheist.

Now, for the record, I didn't like either John Kerry or George W. Bush. The reason I voted for Bush is because I am was very fearful that if Kerry were to have been elected, he would've yanked the troops out of Iraq too soon. In fact, when I cast my vote for Bush, I held my nose. I don't think Bush has done a really good job as President, but I do believe that he's doing the best he can. He's not perfect and neither is John Kerry. And you know what? I don't want a "perfect" president. I want a man who is giving it his all, and I believe that's what Bush is doing.

And finally, for those of you who are disappointed that Kerry wasn't elected, I'm sorry that your candidate didn't win. He fought the good fight. He was gracious in defeat. And he elected to not drag this on for another four or five weeks. To me, that shows class. Now, unpack your bags. Start your campaign for John Kerry to run in 2008 now. Let's except that Bush is our president whether we like it or not, and let's move on.

ETA: I decided to make this entry public so that if any one wanted to share this with other friends who are not on my friends list, they could see it.
