honestly, i don't know! T___T i've never been paid for work before, so i don't know how much "my time is worth" (i hate when people say it like that...). i think it really depends on the size of the final product, but i also work really slow since i do it in layers (and i'm obsessed with it looking right *eyesroll*). that 16" X 20" painting of lily i did i would probably ask no less than $200 for given the amount of time i spent on it. (i think that would include shipping too
( ... )
God, I really love your doll paintings. I love that you will some day have a room full of doll paintings. :) I agree it's odd to paint/sell someone else's photo straight up. However, how about a collaboration, where you have input on the actual photo / theme. That would be cool? huh? ^_^ wow, Hannya feels like such a rock star.
i have this fantasy of going over to people's houses to set up and photograph their dolls for my paintings, but seeing as how airfare is so pricey (and now gasoline too), opportunity to get around just... isn't there. in which case, a collaboration would be wonderful! ^^
and hannya IS a rock star. :D (btw, is she french resin?)
I'm not much for dolls, but I think the paintings are beautiful! They're almost haunting. I especially love Zen's hair and the light streaks in the second one. The coloring is fabulous! Great job, Mo : )
That painting you did for my ex-girl was stunning, if she hadn;t already gone to a new home, I'd definitely have bought it off you. T.T
Would you be interested in photo collaboration then? :D coz I take oodles and oodles of photos anyway, so it sounds like a fun project. I'm very slow though ^_^;
Actually, I'm not sure if this is weird, but what I really want is a miniature portrait of my dolls. As in, a doll sized portrait, something that would look to scale for my dollies? That might be very hard for you to paint, but I think that would be fun for a lot of people, and would be a nice prop. :)
Cheers~! Steph
And what I'd give to be able to photograph Hannya in RL *sighs happily*
