Over the long weekend I met Yukiko, Ai, Sho, and Scott at Hirakata Station at 10 am on Friday, and we took the Keihan line over to Kyobashi where we met Keiko. Then as a big group we took the JR Line to Osaka-jo (Osaka Castle). It's really pretty, and the inside is sorta like a museum with tons of stuff from hundreds of years ago. We had a long weekend due to the Respect for the Aged Day (or something) and on Saturday, I hung out with Jenny and watched Advent Children (it rocked so hard, Vincent and Cid are quite smexy, and don't get me started on Sephy) and then we went to Shijo (Kyoto) with Sean and the three of us went into random anime/manga stores, including GAMERS! Okay, after school ended at like 2:20pm I raced my bike home, and then went to the station and got off finally at Neyagawa Station to meet Scott. He (finally) got there around 5pm, and we started our trek to Kishiwada. First we took the Keihan line to Kyobashi, then got off and got on the JR Osaka Loop Line to Shin-Imamiya. Tonight (Thursday the 15th) I plan to make the trek to Kishiwada in southern Osaka to see the famous Danjiri festival. I hope I can go with someone instead of being all alone and trying to figure out the trains. Gaahh! It will be so fun if I can actually make it there. This weekend Okaasan and Chizuko took me with them to visit some of their friends who live out in the country, in a town called Sonobe. It took about an hour or so to drive out there, we drove past Kameoka, which is apparently more towards Kyoto than Osaka. It seems like every day I'm touring Hirakatashi and the stuff around campus, and it's been fun. Yesterday and the day before Scott and I went into a store called Izumiya, which is a giant department store/whatever store, sorta like Loft but not as cool or tall. OMFG, natto tastes like snot. We had it last night as a part of dinner. The rest of dinner was as usual, very delicious, and Okaasan asked me to try the natto. So I did, and the first bite was alright, until I tasted the mucus-like covering of it. The natto I had, at least, had okra in it and beans, and a slimy covering that held it all ( Read more... )
