Dummy math...

Dec 12, 2006 10:21

I just *HAD* to ask, didn't I? I wasn't satisfied being oblivious to my dumbness, I suppose. Yesterday, in math class, I asked the professor if he were to compare our math class to a high school level math class, what would it be. He asked me if I was sure I wanted to know. Of course I was. That's why I asked the question ( Read more... )

Aww I know how you feel though, I took an elementry level statistics...and I swear it definitly was an elementry level statistics, I ended up skipping over 1/2 of the classes because it was ridiculously easy...

Its frustrating I know! But just do your best and keep working at it and before you know it the semester will be over...

Yeah... :) LoL, I'm hoping it'll be an easy credit. It's so pathetic, though, because the guy that runs the testing center said I did better than 9 out of every 10 of the people who take the test!

Maybe it'll just be a super easy credit... LoL.

Chapter 3's problems look like 6x + 2 = 14 I should ace this stuff!!!

I'm at around a 9th grade level myself.. if that high. I know I did some 8th grade math.. lol

Wait.. I've never seen anything like chapters 3's problems. lol but I figured it out just from looking at it. The x scared me. lol

I'm Horrible with math, was flying though reading and spelling, in 2nd grade I was reading and spelling at a 5th or 6th grade level. too bad the spelling stayed at that level. LMAO Or maybe i'm sad because the grammar didn't catch up. lol Math was always my low point.. ALWAYS.

Math is the same way with me. Xs, decimals, fractions, and anything else out of the norm scare me and make my head ache! LoL, at least I'm not the only one, though. Math just irritates me!!!

In 5th grade, I was on the last round of the spelling bee to compete at the city wide level and I misspelled "squirrel". I was so sad!!! :)

You know what? Who cares! You're doing something great for yourself and your family, and everyone has to start somewhere. Think of it this way- if it's easy enough, you'll get through it quickly and you'll move on to something else.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Better to take this class and be totally ready for the next than to throw yourself in the deep end and not do so well and still have to go back to an easier one!

That's very true! As basic as some of the skills are, some of them I did need to revisit. Hopefully this will leave me very ready for college level math! =)

Hey don't feel bad.
I barely graduated because of my math skills.
I can barely do fractions. Anything under that I can easily do. Hand me a paper with a ton of algebra on it. HA! yeah right ... i'll hand it right back. haha

But like Cassy said "Who cares! You're doing something great for yourself and your family, and everyone has to start somewhere. Think of it this way- if it's easy enough, you'll get through it quickly and you'll move on to something else."
I 100% agree. It's a good start and don't let the math level you're at get you down!
