I just had a visit from the union president, who apologized profusely and assured me she had no idea that the "party committee" had decided to leave me out of the retirement party planned for this June. What a stupid thing to happen. Unless the added letters on the cake are $1000 each, there is no reason to exclude you. Glad you're back in!

Do you know how tempted I was to say "no thanks?" But that would put me at their level. It was ridiculous.
