So there is this absurd catfight going on on the WC because some women posted in Parenting about how they hate being pregnant, and someone in the Still At It thread couldn't get over the nerve of these women to be complaining when so many others wish they could be pregnant. I was going to respond but then I remembered my policy of always staying ( Read more... )

That is ridiculous. I get so frustrated when women who are struggling with infertility don't take responsibility for their own feelings and instead blame others for their own distress. I've had fertility problems as long or longer than just about anyone on WC, and I've seen a bunch of women get pregnant, have babies, and some of them do it all over again. Yes, it can hurt to read that sort of thing. It's hard to read about pregnancy complaints. But the solution isn't for others not to get pregnant, not to talk about their pregnancies, not to complain about the unpleasant realities of pregnancy. The solution is for those of us with fertility issues to be careful where we allow ourselves to go. If we see a thread about hating pregnancy, I think we can safely assume that it will not have a positive impact on us, and if we're not in the frame of mind to handle that well, we shouldn't read on. It's our responsibility to avoid the Parenting forum when we need to, to avoid WC or LJ when we need to protect ourselves. I have to look ( ... )

Eeek. Can you tell that's a sore spot of mine? I haven't read the WC craziness, and I don't think I will.

Just wait, some of the ladies complaining about the complainers will end up complaining themselves once they get pregnant!

Thanks for saying that, Jenny. I didn't want to come across like I wasn't deeply sympathetic to all the women struggling with infertility. It was more a frustration with the WC, which I can't get off of, of course. ;)

Oh Emily, I wish you would post that. I steer very clear of every one of those kind of threads, but for some reason that particular one really got my dander up. The woman who started the controversey in the first place is a trouble maker. She hasn't said one sincere, un-self-centered thing since she came to the WC. I'm much happier over here in LJ land, I've discoverd.

Yes! That woman is very strange. I noticed her because she is in Chicago. She is always going on about how much money her husband has. Yikes. I am amazed the people things say on the WC.

I am liking LJ definitely. But I still don't "know" too many people. You seem to have tons of "friends." ;)

Most of my "friends" are from AMJ. I don't know too many people over here either, but I figure if I hang around a bit maybe other people will friend me. I still feel a little weird about friending people who I don't know that well. I thought about friending some people who I see around here and just generally like but don't know. Then I decided they'd think I was a stalker!

Totally! I was afraid of the same thing. I don't think that many JAS 2003 mommies are on here....
