I was just watching Mystery Spot the other day, thinking about how much the Trickster might have known when he said "You keep sacrificing yourselves for each other and everyone knows how to use it so knock it off!" Like whether the Trickster, who we now are told has been Gabriel all along, was trying to stop the apocalypse. Or something.
So yeah, the second he went *SNAP* and Castiel flickered away, I was like "O RLY?" and knew they were going to go somewhere interesting with that.
It's about two brothers. The loyal-to-father older brother and the younger, rebellious one. HELLS YEAH. There's some meta-mythos-archtypal-Joseph Campbell...thing there that I'm too tired to pick apart. But it's NEAT.
Very well done episode that was mostly fun then BAM, hits you with some intriguing new mythology. That's why I like Trickster eps. They're always a good ride.
