The shut up story

In my infinite weirdness this morning, i mulled over my most overused word, "Shut Up". Well, technically speaking, those are two words, but I digress. So why is shut up shut up, and not like shut down. It probably originated from 'Shut your mouth' and therein lies the directional importance. Gappa bus!!

If Gappa means quiet then is that why gol gappas are called so? If you have one in your mouth, you cannot do anything but stay quiet. :p

I am going nuts, so excuse the insanity of this comment. Will write to explain the going nuts part. :)

the bengali version will be well used! :) and i did think of "Khaamosh", but it reminded me of "KHAAMOSH GUSTAKH" from the very imposing Prithviraj Kapoor from Mughal-e-Azam! but now that i think of it, it can be well used too! ;)
