Nope. The real challenge I face in my writing is brevity. There's always so much going on in my head that I tend to get carried away with words and this makes the piece rather boring to read, even to me. I've got a number of unfinished short stories, which even tho' I have thought of the ending, do not seem to justify the use of so many words. 100_words is a good place to experiment. Thanks for the ficlets link. I might just take it up someday.... character limit (ficlet's rule) is way beyond me right now.
