In a happy mood :-)

I'm in a good mood now and feel like updating.

First and foremost, I feel good about my summer because . . . I was accepted into the REU program!! For those of you who don't know, REU stands for Research Experience for Undergraduates, and the program is at Wash U working with complex fluids. This makes me happy because the summer no longer is ( Read more... )

Congratulations!

I think you'll do just fine. What I see happening is: Yes, it will be difficult in the beginning, and you may/will flail a little bit-- I mean, it is research, and it is at WashU, it is going to be difficult!-- but, then, you will work harder to catch up, and, then, you will work so hard that you will develop a momentum of hard-workingness, and that all these people will just go, "Wow, who is this EnChick? We want her to have our babies!" and then you will be the hero EnChick and everyone will love you ^_^

Lol . . . no, but seriously.

. . . at the expense of my friends, for which I apologize . . .
We just miss you, Lisa! It's sad not having you around all the time! Yet don't hang out with us because it's duty, lol; hang out with us because you love us :-P

Congratulations! I'm going to be doing an REU program at Penn State this summer and I'm having similar qualms (sp?) about whether or not I'm ready for it. I have a feeling that these are the feelings a lot of students participating in the program go through and the professor/grad students you'll be working with will know and understand. Afterall, they've probably been there as well. Also, remember that the REU programs are for undergraduates...and they realise that the participants will have had minimal research lab experience and will help you accordingly; they don't expect you to come in there and win nobel prizes for them. Anyway, good luck with the summer - I know you'll do wonderfully and have an excellent time!
