Boston was appropriately wintry: chilly day with low grey clouds swirling around the 20th stories of the skyscrapers. The drive up there and back went surprisingly fast for 11 hours. well, if you favor the solitary life, i recommend thermopolis, wyoming. has the world's larges hot spring (which they use to power their pools). friends of my family have built a house out in the canyon. it is tres cool. or of course, there's always the area around jackson hole. right next to grand teton nat'l park, and you can share the neighborhood with harrison ford and jean craighead george. i'm assuming you don't mind lots of snow.

going abroad, bath is quite nice. you can visit the jane austen center and so on. and parma, italy is a nice low-key city, with cool churches, tasty gelato, and a nice color scheme. if you want excitement, i suggest florence: lots and lots of art and cool buildings and all-around awesomeness.
