My favorites from Fall 2005 ready to wear lines:

Derek Lam, Wunderkin, Lela Rose, Imitation of Christ, and Monique Lhuillier. Photos from style.com
Alexandre Herchcovitch
For the runway show, he had musicians follow each model down the runway- quirky but cute. I feel similarly about the collection; some of the combinations of prints are a bit odd, but ultimately likable.
BCBG Max Azria
I like the folksy look that the collection has going on- it's funky but still wearable.
Bill Blass
There were some gorgeous dresses, but most of the collection is too matronly and dowdy for my tastes.
Carolina Harrera
I think Carolina Harrera does a much better job at a more mature look without looking frumpy. The gowns are classic and understated.
Costello Tagliapietra
The only fabric they use is cotton jersey, but they use it well. The draping is so lovely and swingy in the dresses.
Derek Lam
I really love this collection. It's laid-back and relaxed without being sloppy. It has more of a summery feel than fall to me, though.
Diane von Furstenberg
I always love her collections; the dresses always have such flattering silhouettes and interesting prints.
DKNY
A lot of the pieces are kind of ubiquitous this season, like peasant dresses and belts, but it still looks fresh. Wearable but not boring. I like it.
Doo.Ri
I like the metallic blues. The whole collection is very crisp and sexy.
Imitation of Christ
I actually like this collection, which is surprising considering how many horrible Chloe Sevigny disasters IoC has caused. I tend to like the more structured stuff the most, but I think they really pull off the drapey stuff amazingly this time. I kind of love this one.
Jasmin Shokrian
Her training as a sculptor really shows in her designs. They all have interesting shapes and lines.
Jeffrey Chow
This collection struck me as kind of old-ladyish, but in a good way. It's cute.
Lela Rose
Also a very cute collection. I love the lace trim on this coat, it gives it such a feminine edge. The dresses are lovely and feminine as well.
Marc Jacobs
I am so, so disappointed by this collection. Normally Marc Jacobs is my favorite, but this is just so... drab. And the shapes are all so unflattering. There are a few looks that I don't hate, but nothing I really like, either. But maybe it will grow on me, I don't know.
Marc by Marc Jacobs
I like this somewhat better; there are some outfits that I actually love. But there are still quite a few atrocities. Bleh.
Matthew Williamson
I really like the feminine, 70s-esque feel of this collection. Gorgeous.
Michael Kors
Firstly, I love him for calling one of Wendy's designs "farty" on Project runway. I'v never been a huge fan of him, though; his stuff kind of bores me. But I do like his dresses from this collection: this one has a great, curvy shape to it, and the orange and black of this one are really striking without being to Halloween-y.
Monique Lhuillier
Wow. I think I'm in love with every single dress in this collection. I can see a lot of them ending up on the red carpet. So much love.
Oscar de la Renta
Great as always. I adore this coat. The looks are elegant but not stuffy. The gowns are nice but none really jump out at me.
Proenza Schouler
I think they do the mod look well; it still has a modern, hip feel to it.
Ralph Lauren
Everything is very sleek and kind of masculine. The lines of the gowns are really lovely, too.
Roland Mouret
Lots of really retro silhouettes, and I think it works. Pretty.
Sweetface
Oh, vomit. Why does J. Lo deserve her own line? I mean, some of it is admittedly cute, but none is particularly exciting or new. It's better than Baby Phat, at least.
United Bamboo
I love the contrast between greys and bright colors in these designs, it really makes the colors pop. Even the black dresses are fab- the contruction of them is wonderful.
Wunderkind
The highlight of this collection is definitely all of the gorgeous coats. Love them. The were some amazing dresses, too.
Wow, that was longer than I expected. I promise I won't make another fashion-related post for a long time, okay?
