What the hell French Consulate!???!?

Okay. I'm moving to France on February 11th. I've been working on getting a visa for about 3 months! I was suppose to have arrived in France January 1st, but the God forsaken process has not allowed this! Unfortunately...I'm not surprised that you got attitude from French people...don't you ever hear the jokes?! (and btw...I have a French aunt...and quite frankly I'm scared of her...just from the way she comes across even if she means well)...maybe it's the accent...

I'm sorry you're having such trouble with this...I know you've been Europe bound for YEARS now! I hope it works out soon :)

sadly this is not a french specificity but one of administrations/bureaucracies without accountability.

rest assured that american consulates' treatment of foreigners is equally bad if not worse, at least with the french you got to talk to a human being without paying 150 bucks (or whatever the current rate is) upfront.

I do forgive the French Consulate because they did give me my visa after all. I arrive in Paris on Feb 12th! Last night it suddenly hit me that I'm moving to a completely new country where I don't speak the language very well, so now I'm scared out of my mind! But I'll get over it.
