Similac Recall

My friend Corrin who gave birth to twins right down the hall from me sent me a text tonight. She wanted to know if I was formula feeding yet. I told her no, still breastfeeding. She said there was a huge recall on Similac formula because it contains insect parts and beetle larvae. Yikes. That is disgusting

I can't imagine keeping up with nursing twins. I know I tandem but it's not the same. If it comes up again, remind her that there is no 'try'. She successfully breastfed those babies. We crunchy mamas want to go as long as possible for the good of the child, but she did what she could and that's awesome.

I'm sure glad I nurse my singletons though. I've never had boobie beetles and don't intend to start.

I wonder if all those free samples I gave to a girl Thomas works with are affected. :X

Even if they were, they're probably gone now. The samples only make a few bottles each. That's how the formula company snags people. They get the baby's supply just a wee bit screwed up with the sample and then the mom has to go buy more.

I think it's kind of funny how many free samples I get. I've probably received at least 10 cans/bins of formula and countless coupons for free or heavily discounted stuff.

But it still ain't free! :)
