"Just hit up ____ relief center. Going to ____ now. Blablabla helping people is fun."

and my favorite!

"Ateneans helping out! They can't say we're apathetic now."

I went to Ateneo the other day, because of all the OHMYGOD ATENEO IS SO HELPFUL AMAZING GOD'S GIFT OF TO THE WORLD! and left really bitter and annoyed. Buti pa yung ibang centers. Tahimik lang na gumagawa ng trabaho. No need to make a big fuss about helping, really.

dumaan kami dun the other day to deliver goods from Ateneo rockwell at ang daming tao lang sa smocket, and the rest walking walking at may mga tambay sa PARKING LOT. so from there lumipat nalang kami and looked for other places na undermanned. isa pang *amusing* sight is the whitespace relief center. hello kids, let's meet and greet.

hahaha oh what a sight. a joyful social event.

You know what else is annoying? So many people in the Covered Courts doing NOTHING (well maybe they did something for like an hour then nothing for two hours) yet not enough people to go to the sites to physically distribute. The new scene = Ateneo relief center

Haha ignore na lang. On the other side, at least they're helping, and are encouraging other people to help.

Yeah of course it's great that things are getting done and moving along. It's just irritating how so many people are making themselves out to be Mother Teresa when showing their volunteering off like they would a diamond ring or limited edition sneakers.

And I hear people are only enthusiastic about volunteering when they're about to be deployed. My brother said that when they announced that high school kids can't be deployed anymore, a bunch of girls said "Edi uwi nalang tayo." Or basta, if there's a task inside cov courts, hirap silang humanap ng people to work. But if it's deployment, everyone wants to go.

I AGREEEEEEEE. omg someone on my list said,

"bakit ganun, even if its a disaster sa ibang lugar masaya pa rin ako! just ate with my family at shang, YUM, then helping out at ___ later with my friends super fun!"

or something like that! sarap sapakin. medyo nabawasan my intial optimism and feeling of wow people are helping each other etc when people started posting stuff like that. i mean its nice how people are helping eavch other but really, some are just.. arghhh.
