Singing and dancing and general merriment...minus the dancing

I decided after pondering it for a while that I would try out again for a capella singing groups this year. Last year I did it very spur-of-the-moment cause auditions were during freshman orientation, and only seriously tried for 1 group. This time I'm doing it right and auditioning for four. Marx was a materialist. And has nothing when faced with Hegel - I just spent an hour and a half in a room full of people who agree with everything that Marx advocates for watching ourselves tearing him apart using Hegel. We kept on trying to make his arguments work - and they just didn't. He thinks he's a materialist, but he can't be a fucking materialist! Because he's an idealist. And believing in an ideal before it is realized means that that ideal must exist outside of material. And if you're a materialist, that can't happen.

Also, to quote Marx where he shines, "The materialist doctrine that men are products of circumstances and upbringing ... forgets that it is men who change circumstances." Daniel, that's Tucker's Marx-Engels reader, which you own, I'm sure, page 144.
