North Shore trip was delightful as always. Good company, good (and too much) food, beautiful place. There was even enough snow for cross-country skiing this year, first time since 2000. Yesterday a rain/sleet storm took care of most of the snow, but made for a cozy indoor day with a fire and massive waves, the biggest I've seen on Superior in years ( Read more... )

Leaving in the morning for the annual North Shore trip with family, and our friends the Colburns from Iowa. Should be a blast. We may even be able to cross-country ski this year - I'm told there's 6" of snow on the ground in the Duluth area and a bit more falling right now.

Break's been good. Not much to report. I've been hanging around at home, working on my a capella arrangement quite a bit. It's really time consuming. I'm arranging Love Will Come To You by the Indigo Girls, as of the songs on our list I deem it the most necessary to have ready to perform at Love Sucks, our Valentine's Day show ( Read more... )

Not happy with Apple. My iBook's logic board fried again. This would be its replacement logic board installed less than 6 months ago after the first one fried. I recognized the symptoms right away (the screen freezes and flickers crazily when it starts up, if it starts up at all, which it usually doesn't) so I'm assuming it's the same thing. Thanksgiving break was nice. Like last year, I went to Seattle to visit my grandma and aunt who live there. Had a nice Turkey Day dinner with various relatives I barely know.
