That's hard! the pony is cute, what is it's breeding? It's hard to tell from those photos but those front feet look a bit odd, if you do decide to take him I would get a prepurchase exam, just in case. It would be a bummer to fall in love and then find out there is something majorly wrong with him

I'd have to say that right now I'm loving him. If he'd been offered to me 6 months ago I might have passed, but now I have a lot more confidence and a more secure seat, so I believe I can deal with any misbehavior. Having said that, so far he hasn't caused me any problems and I've been able to anticipate and fix his little attempts go run off pretty easily. Most of all, I love that he's pretty forward going, because there's nothing more frustrating then spending an entire ride trying to get the damn horse to MOVE properly. He's being ridden with german martingale reins to avoid the rearing temptation, but I think I'll have a try riding him without when I take him for a ride on my own. From my experience riding him and watching others ride him in the past couple weeks I see a very good attitude

I don't really know what the horse industry is like there, but here, there are more people who aren't what they seem than legit, honest businessmen/women, so I think my concerns about the situation are a bit different than everyone else's

I know that a free horse sounds fishy and I might feel the same way had I not been riding at this barn for the last 3 years. I actually found out about it through my brother, who's been a friend of the BM for years. He's also friends with a girl who boards her horse there and half-leases him for lessons. That horse has some serious attitude problems, but that's another story
