I really enjoyed Monster a lot. I don't think it was the best movie ever, and I'm a big true crime fan so I sort of know the story and I really hated how many liberties they took with it, but Charlize Theron alone makes it worthwhile.
I actually wished they had focused more on the murders than on the love story, because those seemed to be the most effective scenes anyway. Also, the love story is so fabricated; in reality, both of them were very selfish, and the girlfriend was much more willing to sell Lee out to the cops than the film made her out to be.
yeah, i was so surprised that she just gave her up that easily!! that was terrible. And the murders were what moved me...the nice guy, oh MAN..that was ridiculous.
