i was just reminded how much i love Bjork! i found a Death Cab cover of All Is Full Of Love. and then i watched the Bjork video, which is all these elegant, sleek white robot versions of Bjork all making out with eachother. it is fucking excellent.

just wanted to share that :)

I just finished an essay last night about working in Iceland. In fact if you and Jordan ever wanted to go to Iceland for a visit, there are some really great volunteering opportunities that would make it a little more affordable to go.

through an organisation based in B.C. called CADIP, I researched it well enough to write a paper about them, not well enough to actually travel with them, if you come up with any red flags, please let me know.
You can do anything from "environmental projects" (which looks like weeding and tree planting and trail maintenance) to volunteering at a festival. Iceland depends on outside labour as their population is so small:) You don't need a special work visa with your canadian passport as long as you don't stay longer than three months and there are no vaccinations required:)

Aw, I love that video! It's a Chris Cunningham, the same guy who did the wacked out videos for Aphex Twin (Windowlicker and Come to Daddy to be specific), but I like the concept for the Bjork video best... *sigh* does thinking about bjork make you think about high school? I can't seem to escape it, but I know that you listened to Medulla a lot post-high school... freakin' out Jaq... :)

i actually didn't really listen to Bjork in highschool. only random occasions when she was featured on that MuchMusic show hosted by Sook-Yin Lee. the first time i heard "Post" was the year i started university. it remains my favourite of her albums. although Medulla is weirdly fascinating ( and unsettling to some. haha!) the other Chris Cunningham video i love is the Portishead video for "Only You". also amazingly creative and bizarre :) now Portishead DOES remind me of highschool! specifically "Glory Box". i listened to that album over and over again with my friend Jenn. i still love the music but it does make me laugh a little when i think about what a tragic and mellow dramatic a soundtrack i have to remember over my teenaged years ;)
