Sieben - 1
Ever since the day Max found that little puppy (he named it Mangdoongie, just as the one he had seen at the mall before just because), he hadn’t felt exactly well. He hadn’t been able to sleep at all, and it was really affecting him.
He kept having the same reoccurring dream, if he could call it dream because it was more of a nightmare than anything. Sometimes he would wake up in the middle of the night, hugging onto his pillow and breathe into it so he didn’t wake Yunho up; he kept repeating over and over in his head that it was just a dream. But, it felt so real.
Yunho.
That was another part of his problem; the older man had been nothing but patient and extremely humble to him. Sometimes, when his nightmares felt too real, he would wake up Yunho, who ended up holding him through the night. He would wipe his tears and even sung him back to sleep while he felt embraced in Yunho’s warmth.
Max knew painting was important to Yunho, that’s why he had pulled long hours in his art studio. So now he was most likely dead to the world, deep in slumber. Max felt it would be nice if Yunho woke up right and be with him as he was afraid to go back sleep.
He would have gone to BoA, his second mean of comfort. But unfortunately she was out on a date with someone guy she had just met a few weeks ago.
Max felt something he hadn’t felt since he had arrived Yunho’s place: loneliness.
The feeling was painfully familiar, and he couldn’t help but wonder if he used to feel like this back in the life he couldn’t remember.
Why couldn’t remember anything? Who was he? Was his real name even Max?
He didn’t know what to do at the moment. He was afraid of something, he was afraid of sleeping, and he was afraid of not being able to remember anything.
Max laid down after a few minutes, and faced Yunho. The older man had his mouth open and was slightly drooling. He was even snoring a little. Smiling sadly and turning around, he sighed to himself before closing his eyes and praying to have a good and restful night.

Screams were heard down the long corridors along with machinery being cut on. The air smelled coppery and stale. A dark figure tightened the scraps to the gunnery, and a young boy fought against it. He was wrapped in a tight fabric that restricted any movement and for some reason, couldn’t even use his vectors. He felt as if he couldn’t breathe as the fabric tightened on his chest as he was desperately gasping for air.
“Bring inmate 180288 into OP,” a deep voice said over the intercom.
A blindfold was placed on his eyes tightly, making his head hurt. His world became pitch black, but his hearing picked up. The boy felt the bed start to move, and he struggled more against the buckles. It only took a few minutes before the gunnery stopped.
“Where the fuck are you taking me?!” the boy yelled.
Next thing he knew, he received a blow to the face. He cried out in pain, and tried to use his vectors again. Somehow they couldn’t go out, through the tight fabric around him.
“I’m going to kill all of you one day,” he swore, mumbling it more to himself than to the guard.
“Well, well, well,” a nasally voice he had come to know pretty well said. “Inmate 180288…Changmin. Ready to finish what we started last check up? Hmmm?” Heejun mocked.
Changmin took a deep breath. He knew what was going to come next. He knew he couldn’t do anything as long as the fabric was tightly around him, and he knew that someday, he would be able to escape. Then, the first thing he would do was to kill Heejun. Oh, how he found comfort thinking about the many ways he could make Heejun scream in pain as Changmin killed him slowly.
He stayed still, as much pain as his body had to endure he wasn’t going to break. Not in front of these people, not in front of Heejun.
“The serum sir,” one person said to Heejun.
Heejun took it and stuck the needle into Changmin’s neck. Changmin started to feel as if his body was no longer his. Heejun took away his blindfold and smirked down at him.
Changmin could feel, he could hear, he could see, he could taste, he could smell, but he couldn’t move. As much as he tried to, not even his vectors responded.
The head doctor approached and checked him over; making sure the drug had made effect in Changmin’s body. Once he was sure of it, he nodded and took a step back.
Changmin felt the fabric being taken off of him, leaving him fully naked on the cold steel bed. He tried using his vectors again, but it was impossible.
“Let’s start,” one of the scientists said.
More lights were turned on and Changmin could hear a crowd somewhere.
“This our inmate 180288,” the lead doctor started as he approached Changmin again. “He was caught some approximately 2 weeks ago. He was with another diclonius, but the other escaped.”
“This specimen is the lively example of what we fear from his kind, he is vicious. He killed more than half of the men that were sent ho his capture. Studies had found that he is very mentally unstable, he doesn’t think twice when it comes to kill,” one scientist said to apparently other people in the room. “This is exactly why we need to take a decision. They are multiplying faster than we expected. This is why we need to terminate them.”
Changmin’s insides twisted. This is why he hated humans; if they felt threatened they just killed.
They turned around Changmin and began to explain about his vectors as they took a scalpel and opened his back. They haven’t found were the vectors came out, they just knew it was from the back.
The process kept on explaining his healing process. Everybody was marveled at how Changmin seemed to heal faster than most diclonius. They kept on cutting into him before taking him to another room where he was punched and shot avoiding vital organs.
Changmin could feel every bit of it, he could feel how his blood ran out, he could feel how his bones broke, and he could feel everything. He wished he could scream, but he was glad he couldn’t.
Just as the experiments concluded and everybody seemed to go, he was wrapped tightly in that familiar fabric from neck to his stomach. Someone spread his legs apart and tightly.
He saw Heejun approached him again. “My little kitten,” he said in a whisper as he caressed Changmin’s forehead before planting a kiss on it. “I’ve missed you.”
Changmin tried to detach his mind from his body. He tried to think about those few good memories he had, the ones he treasured with all his might. He felt as his body had been ripped in two.
Sure, it wasn’t pain from being shot, but this kind of pain left him with more than physical scars. Changmin was strong, always had been, but everybody has their breaking point and it seemed that Heejun was willing and did find Changmin’s.
After Heejun was done, Changmin was injected in the neck again and he slowly drifted to sleep.

Max woke up screaming. His dream had felt so real; he could still feel the pain. He started sobbing uncontrollably and after a few seconds he felt strong arms wrapped around him, embracing him and guiding him to Yunho’s chest.
“Shhh. It’s ok,” Yunho whispered, as he rubbed Max’s back soothingly.
The younger let his tears fall. He needed it; he needed to cry until he could get rid of the heaviness in his chest and the lump in his throat.
“I’m scared,” Max mumbled, trying to calm down.
He felt Yunho’s embrace tighten. “It was just a nightmare. Everything’s ok now,” he whispered. “I’m here.”
Max nodded slightly. “I know. You’re here. Everything’s ok,” he said, inhaling Yunho’s intoxicating scent as his arms wrapped around Yunho’s torso.
Both stayed like that for a few moments, before lying back on the bed. They were facing each other but Yunho’s arm was on Max’s waist.
“Yunho?” Max asked in the dark.
“Mhmmm,” the older man barely responded. He was dozing off.
Max looked at Yunho’s profile, examining it carefully. This man was perfect in his eyes and there was something oddly familiar in him. “I like you,” he whispered.
“I like you, too,” Yunho mumbled back, barely audible and understandable.
Max smiled and leaned in, and closed his eyes as he bravely laid a kiss on Yunho’s soft lips.
At the feeling of Max’s lips against his, Yunho immediately opened his eyes and pushed the younger man.
“What are you doing?” Yunho asked as Max moved to kiss him again. He stopped him by grabbing him by the shoulders before Max could kiss him.
Max blinked a few times, not understanding why Yunho was acting like this. He seemed a little upset. “I like you,” he whispered. “And you like me, so I kiss you.”
Yunho stared at him. He sighed and shook his head. “No kissing, Max.” He didn’t want to deal with this right now.
“But-” Max was cut off.
“You only kiss people you love and I don’t love you like that, Max,” Yunho said raising his voice a little. “You’re just confused and upset right now, ok?”
Max felt his chest tighten at Yunho’s words. He felt a lump in his throat again and closed his eyes. He didn’t want to shed more tears this night. “Ok. Good night, Yunho,” he whispered, turning his back to Yunho.
Yunho bit his lip. ‘He’s confused. He needs comfort and I can’t take advantage of that,’ Yunho thought before turning his back to Max as well. “Good night, Max.”
Both fell asleep like that a few minutes after.
