except the last fragment, i agree. i notice i don't quite fit the whole 'They are evil spoken of, and yet are justified; they are reviled, and bless; they are insulted, and repay the insult with honour' thing. i seem to have this idea that i have a right to fair treatment, and your posting this has actually opened my heart to the myriad of passages that speak against what i realize i believed. thanks.
i guess we sometimes so buy into the whole post-modernistic skewed view of 'justified' that we fail to take into account the wholly holy redeeming power of christ. we say 'no, you have no right to treat me this way,' and expect to be apologized to. and yet, though we may scorn the tormentor by trying to get even with them, it is not for us to fight, but to bless and pray that they might be saved one day. and if not, sad though it is, it will be god who vindicates us; not ouselves.
Hardly snubbed. I'm just too busy to think. In any event. We get married May 25th, so hopefully you'll have things ready by the second week of May. :-)
