Oooh. It kind of sounds like something along the lines of "House of Leaves", in the terms of narration. (There's the narrator, who is telling the story of what happened to this one guy, who is telling the story of what happened to another, and the central focus is this house, and then everything falls apart only to come rushing together at the end. Is most fantastic! Is also the creepiest book I've ever read.)
The narrator in my book also remains without a name. And the reason being is, I want her to be very relatable to just about anyone. And so with any luck at all, it won't even matter that she's a girl.
House of Leaves is pretty good - I've been trying to make my way through it bit by bit over the last couple of months (along with everything else). I like what it tries to do, especially in terms of the way it represents what's happening in the text in the layout, although that feels a little "tricksy" at times. I suppose I'll decide when I finish reading it
