Philadelphia paid final respects today to Dr. John Pryor, a local trauma surgeon and Major in the Army Reserves at the University of Pennsylvania. He was killed on Christmas Day by a mortar attack near his living quarters; his family was waiting for a scheduled call from him. He was 42 and leaves behind a wife and three young children.

I didn't know that Major either, but he was killed on the same FOB I'm staying at. Alerts went up all over the place here and we weren't allowed outside without wearing all of our protective gear after this happened. There's really no worse time to lose somebody then on Christmas day because it will never be the same for any of the family members.
