I'm reading
this article, and I'll I'm thinking to myself is the following:
The future. Everything is in ruins. Almost all animals are extinct and only a few humans have survived an electrical apocalypse where all electronics and all digital preservation methods have been destroyed. It has been a very, very long time since then, and people need to search for food in the ruins of what once was a civilization.
Then, one day, a little boy finds a floppy disk. He has never seen this before among all the rubble, so he brings it to his clan's leader. The clan consults with it's elders, and though none of them are sure what the floppy disk is, one of them remembers a legend... Of the oracle in the swiss mountains, and how when one day an unknown object would be found, the oracle would be able to help make use of that object, and restore life to the way it was. An epic journey across a ravaged planet, filled with humans gone insane and lusting for murder begins, in attempt to save the world.
After the majority of the clan has died, only a few core members have made it to the "oracle". They find the Digital Genome and, after long years of figuring out the instructions enclosed within, start to build a computer with a floppy disk drive. On one fateful day, the young boy - now a man, with all his other clan members having died of old age - is finished. He inserts the floppy disk into the computer, hoping with all the hope that is left in this dark, dark world. A single file is located on the disk. He opens it.
