34 weeks and Ike
I had a prenatal appointment this afternoon. All is well with the baby, and I still hate the "non-stress test." I think that's a bit of a misnomer if you're trying to entertain a 3 year old while moving as little as possible yet still trying to pay attention to any movements in your belly. diabetes fun
My diabetes dietician and nurse want my fasting blood sugar (first thing in the morning) level to be less than 90, and 1 hour post-meal readings to be less than 120. The past couple of weeks they've asked me to check occasionally right before meals as well, to get a better idea of how my blood sugar is behaving throughout the day. I had a pre-natal appointment this afternoon. As usual, I was kept waiting a ridiculously long time - I wasn't even called back for the vitals check until 40 minutes past my appointment time. Last Thursday I had a pre-natal appointment, today I had a gestational diabetes check up. Overall, there is a lot of sympathy for me and my ongoing battle with nausea, but not much in the way of help or suggestions. Pregnancy hormones are fun
Yesterday Olivia asked to watch Mulan during lunch. We started the movie for her, set her up with her food at the coffee table, then Dale and I sat down to eat our lunches. I was only vaguely paying attention to the movie since we've seen it about 30 times now, but when the matchmaker scene played, I grabbed a napkin and put it over my eyes. ( Read more... ) -
Life goes on
I haven't spent much time reading LJ or my usual sites the past few weeks. I was in Virginia for a week visiting my parents, then last week I was not feeling well. Yesterday was the first time I'd gone further than our mailbox in a full week, let alone drive the car ( Read more... )
