tantrums

I miss being able to have temper tantrums - the kicking and screaming kind. Why is it considered childish and unacceptable to cry and yell at the top of your lungs every now and then? It leaves us to handle our feelings in more destructive ways, not having that release. Right now I'm handling pretty badly. Why must we be unkind to ourselves? ( Read more... )

I am a firm believer in locking myself alone in a room and crying, swearing ridiculously, abusing pillows etc., as necessary. Screaming is harder; sometimes I can scream quietly and it still feels like a scream, or we have the "primal scream" at Swarthmore every semester before finals so that can be helpful, screaming in a group. Also, I am generally available to listen to rants.
