A wonderful patron/friend of mine from the library sent me the link for this and it is fascinating. Watch as 500 years of women in art morph from one ideal of physical beauty to another - it's the eyes that get you though. It almost made me cry - what an odd reaction that was, right?

I got it to work- what really surprises me is the sense of movement in the paintings. That and the resemblance of one of the paintings to my friend Joan. You're right- the eyes definitely carry it. My only point of frustration is that aside from a few asian women around 2:15, everyone I saw was white. Doesn't anyone paint beautiful Native American, African, and Arabic women too?
